DISOBEDIENCE - XVI Lisbon Summer School – Call for Papers

This Summer School (June 29 – July 3, 2026) is organized in association with the Porto Summer School on Art & Cinema in connection with the Disobedience Archive, a curatorial project by Marco Scotini, which will present an iteration of the exhibition at the Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery in Lisbon, with the collaboration of Ângela Ferreira.

Disobedience Archive is a multiphase, mobile, and evolving video archive that concentrates on the relationship between artistic practices and political action. Presented fifteen times in different countries, Disobedience Archive transforms each time without ever assuming a final configuration. Whether in the form of a parliament, a school, or a community garden, the project turns the archive, typically static and taxonomic, into a dynamic and generative device.

ESSCS Summer School 2026 – Call for Papers

Our ESSCS Summer School consortium is going into the next round. Our partner, the University of Copenhagen (Department of Arts and Cultural Studies), will host a Summer School in 24-28 August 2026 on the topic: Epistemic Equity – What counts as knowledge and what knowledge counts?

The call has been put together by colleagues at PASS – Center for Practice-based Art Studies. Situated at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, PASS is a hub for critical and artistic exploration of how knowledge is made, shared, and transformed across disciplinary and institutional borders. You can read more PASS here.

The call is therefore particularly well suited to artistic or practice-based researchers, such as SINTA members.

There is a reserved quota of places for members of the GSAH and the IFN or doctoral students of the faculty (competitive selection. All costs are borne by the GSAH, i.e. successful applicants participate free of charge. Members of the GSAH can receive 6 ECTS credits in the GSAH Wahlpflichtereich). We are looking forward to receiving applications from Bern, which you should send in the form of an abstract (300–400 words) and a short biographical statement (100–150 words) to michael.toggweiler@unibe.ch  by 12 February 2026: - take advantage of this excellent opportunity!
