Britta Brügger
My name is Britta Brügger, and I hold a Master’s degree in English and Spanish Literary Studies from the University of Bern. Throughout my academic journey, I had the opportunity to participate in two study abroad programmes: a two-term stay at the SELCS department at University College London and a shorter stay at the Institute for World Literature at Harvard University.
Since February 2025, I have been pursuing a doctoral project at the Institute of Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Bern. My dissertation falls within the field of comparative literature and explores how contemporary literary texts from the UK, Spain, and Switzerland portray child migrants as agentive subjects navigating displacement. These figures challenge dominant adult-centred migration narratives and call for new aesthetic approaches to representing fractured identities and transnational belonging.
