María Cáceres-Piñuel (FT 2012 - FT 2014)

María Cáceres is currently a PhD candidate at the Institute for Musicology at the Universities of Bern and Zaragoza. Her dissertation deals with the historiography of musicology in Spain. She studied Human Sciences (BA, 2004) and History and Science of Music (BA, 2006) and later completed a Master of Hispanic Music (2007) at the University of Salamanca. She also studied musicology and pedagogy of music at the Sorbonne (2005/06) and she worked as a secondary school teacher during two academic years (2006-08).
Her research has been supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education (2008-12) and since 2012 by the Dr. Joséphine de Kármán-Stiftung. She was a visiting PhD student at Cambridge University (2011). Interested in culture management, she has done internships with different cultural institutions and has experience as curator assistant and coordinator of scientific events.
